PARTNERS IN RESEARCH
Kühne-Stiftung
Since the middle of 2005 our core research area of International Logistics Networks and Supply Chain Management is supported by endowments from the Kühne Foundation and the Deutsche Bahn AG, underlining the importance of our schools commitment to this research area. Since the middle of 2005 the Kühne Stiftung has been supporting the Center of Competence in International Logistics. The core research areas of the center of competence are the management and design of international logistics networks, as well as the securing of global supply chains against external disruptions. The goal is to integrate the center of competence into the international research community via exchanges and cooperations with international universities and research institutions. To intensify the knowledge exchange in particular in Asia, the Kühne Foundation has created and funded a partner chair at the Tongji University in Shanghai, China. The two universities in Shanghai and Berlin are thus able to cooperate closely in this area.
Siemens AG
The Center for Knowledge Interchange (CKI) has been coordinated as a strategic alliance between the Siemens AG and the TUB since 2004. Focus areas of the CKI are the initiation and coordination of joint research projects. In the first two years of the CKI, the number of contract research projects funded by the Siemens AG at the TUB was tripled. Next to Innovation, a field of study in the faculty of economics and management, the CKI aims to improve the teaching in other departments, such as "Talent". In this context, divers measures such as top-class lecture series, supervision and mentoring of study circles as well as support programs for students are realized.
